About See the 1

See the 1 was started by Travis Wackerly, a foster-turned-adoptive parent who has been married to his wife, Cindy, for 14 years. Music has always been a big part of his life — he’s toured and played the fiddle for artists like Wade Hayes, Ricochet, and Jamie O’Neal. But over time, he found a new purpose for his music: using it to shine a light on foster care and the kids behind the statistics.

Travis works with TFI, a foster care agency, and created See the 1 as a way to explore creative projects that don’t always fit inside the corporate world. Whether he’s playing music, speaking to audiences, or volunteering at foster care booths, his goal is simple — to help people see children in foster care as more than a number.

Outside of foster care work, Travis is a senior brown belt in taekwondo, enjoys scuba diving in Roatan each year, and values time spent with family and friends. You can reach him at: traviswackerly@gmail.com
